Meet Matilda The Harvest Angel
Matilda has just gotten back from the heavenly pumpkin patch and chosen her prize pumpkin for the Thanksgiving Hymn contest for this year. The prize is to be able to stand in the front row when the choir sings We Gather Together Hymn before the service for Thanksgiving Day.
Matilda is made from stained muslin and then baked for that prim look. She has a pinched and sewed nose and mouth with painted eyes. Her hair is made from Sheep's wool and it is a little messed up from being in the pumpkin patch.
Her dress is made from a brown print with prim hearts and stars and the words Welcome Home. She likes this dress since she is also one of the welcoming angels and needs to be dressed if she is called upon. Her wings are made from vintage type print of material and her mighty fine pumpkin is made from muslin and painted orange and then stained for the prim look also. Around her neck is a muslin collar and a vintage button.
This primitive angel doll stands on a brass candlestick. and is approx 18 inches tall and would look great year around.
She also wanted you to see her song she is learning just in case she wins this contest.
We Gather Together Hymn
We gather together to ask the Lord’s blessing;
He chastens and hastens His will to make known.
The wicked oppressing now cease from distressing.
Sing praises to His Name; He forgets not His own.
Beside us to guide us, our God with us joining,
Ordaining, maintaining His kingdom divine;
So from the beginning the fight we were winning;
Thou, Lord, were at our side, all glory be Thine!
We all do extol Thee, Thou Leader triumphant,
And pray that Thou still our Defender will be.
Let Thy congregation escape tribulation;
Thy Name be ever praised! O Lord, make us free!
